The district administration in Indore has started the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages now part of the municipal corporation limits. In 2014, these villages were included in the municipal corporation. Residents who occupy residential land without a lease, along with their heirs or transferees, are eligible to apply for land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently issued directives on this matter during a meeting in Indore. Currently, landowners in these villages face challenges in selling property or obtaining loans due to lack of proper documentation. Applications for land holding rights can be submitted based on a circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Successful applicants will receive a 30-year lease, allowing them to easily sell, transfer, or obtain loans against the property. Camps will be organized on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to accept applications. After verification, eligible beneficiaries will be granted land holding rights. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore mentioned that online applications will be accepted at the camps, and applicants must bring various documents, including bills, correspondence from government offices, property tax receipts, and voter list information related to the plot.
